The Marvelous works of Bosun Tijani and Femi Longe that attracted the Facebook Boss Zukerberg to visit Nigeria

There is no doubt that Facebook boss surprise visit has put Nigeria on a positive spotlight; so finally the world knows we are not all about Militants and Boko Haram. We have cute kids who can code on the computer, cool offices, apple laptops and a movie industry called Nollywood.

Big thanks to Femi Longe and partner Bosun Tijani who founded CcHUB a tech business district in Lagos, Yaba far back in 2011.

Femi and Tijani had a simple idea; create a mini technological city (tech business district) where tech entrepreneurs, technologist, innovators hackers and government can converge to co create new solutions to the many problems in Nigeria

Not daunted by Nigeria’s challenges, they persuaded the government and a local cable provider to install fiber optic cables on their street providing affordable and fast Wi-Fi access to anyone within the hub’s vicinity.

They started with five tech businesses, now there are 60 and the area attracts an increasing number of entrepreneurs.

Zuckerberg singled out their business because of their proven track record in building and incubating startups that tackle the country’s myriad social issues such as Life bank, an app that locates available blood supplies and delivers it to hospitals.

Another innovative solution within CcHUB is Genii games, a platform to make it easier for kids to learn about African culture both in Nigeria and the diaspora.

Bosun Tijani, who mastered in Information Technology at Warwick University believes that technology drives the world now and if you don’t use it smartly as a society thus it inspired the birth of CcHub

Femi and Tijani believed, worked the talk and brought Facebook to our doorstep. Hot stuff!
