The previous music year saw a meteoric rise of many young new faces topping charts and breaking musical records.- many of them got their big break on social media putting out their work on platforms like Tiktok, Instagram and sound cloud- and Boom they got discovered and snatched up by big labels

These new stars edged out industry giants like Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift and Beyonce from the charts and remained there for several weeks, well, 2020 grammies was coronation day

Meet Lizzo

Break out hit track; Good as hell

Honours: Lizzo who was Time magazine’s musician of the year 2019 won three Grammy’s- Best Urban Contemporary Album, Best R&B Traditional Performance, Best Pop Solo.

She is that big girl that works into a room and shuts it down with her loud and larger than life attitude. She twerks in high heels, talks loudly,  sings loudly, embraces her fat and cellulite and takes fans to church with her songs on body positivity.

To add the icing on the cake, she is actually a music nerd and plays the flute beautifully-  She studied music since she was 12 and knows her music notes, scales and harmonies properly.

Her initial plan was to join an orchestra and play in Paris, but life happened, her father died and she found herself on  YouTube and Instagram playing her flute with high heels while twerking like a bad girl.

The clip below which she posted to Instagram was her big break

But it was not all good- 10 years ago she was homeless because she chose to stay in Houston and follow her music career rather than move with her family to Denver after her father died

She also has several music videos on YouTube – the old days when she was just Lizzo struggling to get herself heard

Well with three Grammies in the bag and a kingdom of Media and fans calling her name- its time to rule with more good music

Lil Nas X wrote “Old Town Road” himself using a beat he bought for just $30 on the online platform Beat Stars. He then promoted the song on ticktock- and became an overnight success.
