“It’s a horrific scene in there, there is blood everywhere” – police reports

A mass shooting on Wednesday night left at least 12 people dead at a nightclub in California called Borderline Bar & Grill.

People were on the dance floor “Line dancing” when the gunfire started. ” The suspect named  Ian David Long shot a security guard outside the bar,  then entered the building and began shooting people inside the crowded bar, according to Ventura County Sheriff Geoff Dean.

Multiple students from Pepperdine University, a college in Malibu California close to the nightclub were at the Borderline Bar & Grill when the gunman opened fire.

Sgt. Ron Helus, one of the first police officers to respond to the mass shooting was fatally killed. He had been on the force for 29 years and was looking to retire in the “next year according to reports

This is the 307th US mass shootings in 311 days of 2018; because in America you can by guns the same way you would buy clothes- Online or in store

  • Florida high school shooter, 19 year old Nikolas Cruz (also a former student of the school) walked into a store within his area and bought an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle he allegedly used it to perpetrate the shooting that left at least 17 dead and 14 injured.
  • In Virginia, you can buy a semi-automatic gun “in 15 minutes, –  Seung-Hui Cho Cho bought one of the guns he used in mass shootings from an out-of-state dealer, — in 2007, he killed 32 people in a shooting spree on Virginia Tech’s campus
  • Stephen Paddock the Las Vegas shooter who killed almost 54 people bought 33 assault rifles within 12 months.

As gun debates continue to grow, there are gun hardliners in America and they would rather die than let you take away their guns- Here’s why

It’s an addictive leisure activity, almost like cocaine-

The gun lovers  own a wide range of fancy guns and assault rifles and use them at shooting ranges. Liberte Austin has been hunting for years and owns a range of guns, she regularly shares her exploits with her 200,000 Instagram followers

We like guns because they are the tools of free men. Citizens hold weapons, subjects are disarmed.

For some Owning a gun is tied to their rights as free citizens. If you disarm some Americans , they believe, you trying to take away their freedom

The good guy with a gun

Well, that what Donald Trump and the NRA has been selling to America- a  “citizen protector” ethic, whereby firearms — and the willingness to use them to defend innocent life — come to represent an affirmation of life

It’s the law!

A crazy law called the 2nd amendment,  the right of all citizens to bear arms

The National Rifle Association is powerful in America and has done everything to stop gun laws

OK so a good number of Americans came to their senses and supported background checks also preventing criminals from getting guns, but the NRA make billions of dollars selling guns.

With this money, they invest heavily in politics, most Senators and congressmen receive donations from the NRA, but that’s not all , As a politician, if you speak against the NRA they would invest millions of dollars to jeopardize and stop your re-election.

More mass shootings means more guns to protect yourself:

Americans are all horrified about the mass shootings, similar feelings of disgust and outrage exist, but while some call for gun control, others stockpile on guns because of the need to protect themselves

Rather than control guns, Americans are buying more guns, arming teachers, churches and constantly performing drills on what to do in the case that there is an active shooter.

It’s a paradox that the most powerful country on earth cannot solve a problem with an obvious solution- gun control laws!
