Ms Constand, 45, a former Temple women’s basketball administrator, told jurors that Cosby knocked her out with three blue pills he called “your friends” and then penetrated her with his fingers as she lay immobilised, unable to resist or say no.

Over 60 other women had previously Bill Cosby of sexual assault in a media trial that ended in a deadlocked jury

Justice served

The 80-year-old comedian faces up to 10 years in prison on each count, but is likely to serve them concurrently. A sentencing hearing has not yet been scheduled, and he remains out on bail. Judge Steven O’Neill ruled that Cosby should not leave his Pennsylvania home, and that he would need to be fitted with a GPS tracking device

Bill Cosby reacts violently

Cosby stared straight ahead as the verdict was read, but moments later he lashed out loudly at district Attorney Kevin Steele and called him an “asshole” after the prosecutor asked Cosby be immediately jailed because he “has a plane” and was a flight risk.

Cosby denied he had an aeroplane and shouted, “I’m sick of him!” The judge decided Cosby can remain free on bail while he awaits sentencing but said he cannot leave the state.

His defence team has categorically stated that the battle is not over as they are appealing the sentence.

“Finally my faith in humanity have been restored. This is not just a victory for me or the 62 women sexually assaulted by Bill Cosby, it’s a victory for every survivor of sexual assault – Andrea constand
