I cried when I read her quote on Instagram- She wrote this post shortly before her interview
It must have taken her a lot of courage and strength to tell her truth without fear of being judged and called a liar. A truth she knows her children would read about, a story she must now share with them when they come of age – She has 2 girls and a boy with her husband Timi Dakolo.
The story
Photographer and wife of Famous singer Busola Dakolo sat down with Y’naija’s Chude Jideonwo for a very revealing conversation: She talked about her polygamous childhood, how poverty and the fear of life made her withdrawn and quiet, how she switched from being an MFM type Christian to a more liberal style of Christianity – a religious shift that would put her in the path of a predator.
According to her she met pastor Biodun when the church was just a Christian group, her elder sisters convinced to try something more outgoing and fun, she eventually gave in.
Pastor Biodun clearly targeted her, got to know her family story, warmed his way into their lives- meeting her mum and sisters. He became like a father figure, who enabled her express her fears and all. He knew she had no boyfriend, found out she was still a virgin – she seemed like the perfect target.
Seems like he waited for the perfect moment, He understood how her home functioned– one morning when he knew her junior sister and mum traveled, he came to her house early in the morning and raped her. He also said she should be glad he is the one that did it to her.
After watching the full interview I asked myself why bad things happen to good people – Busola Dakolo’s wife did everything right as a teenager, she was a church goer, a devout Christian, not a party girl, yet she got raped in her home by a pastor she saw as a father and a man the whole family trusted.
