Project Titan; or you may call it apple’s secret i car.

The Apple team is working to keep its driverless car project under wraps, but the scale and magnitude of the project is making it difficult.

Internal leaks, registered documents and some suspicious recruitments have all pointed towards the tech giant’s new baby.

While the Apple team have neither confirmed nor denied, the following details speak for itself.

Apple penned a letter to US department of transport: through their director of product integrity Steve Kenner. The focus of the letter? Self-driving cars.

Talks to buy McLaren’ British luxury car maker According to a report from the Financial Times (paywalled) citing three sources with knowledge of the project. What the Financial Times isn’t clear about is whether this is a major investment or an outright purchase of the company.

Money spent on Research & Development has tripled It has emerged that Apple has spent $10bn in research and development costs, which is more than triple of what it spent just four years ago ($3bn). This massive increase in R&D costs, does suggest that Apple is developing something a lot bigger than simply a new iPhone, iPad or Mac device.

Auto dealers Ford & Tesla Gearing up to battle apple: In interviews  with the BBC, Ford boss Mark Fields claims that the future rivals of his company may not be the likes of BMW and Audi, but instead tech companies like Google and Apple. ( Google  is also working on a self driving car project)

Elon Musk CEO of electric cars is claiming that it’s an “open secret” that apple is building a rival car.  Regarding Apple’s privacy, he remarked “It’s pretty hard to hide something if you hire over a thousand engineers to do it”.( some coming from his company)

Engine noises’ heard late at night at Apple Car campus If Apple isn’t developing a car, this rumor will be pretty hard to explain:  someone who lives near Apple’s mysterious campus in Sunnyvale, California (believed to be where Apple is developing its car) complained about “motor noises” coming from the facility at night.

Apple buys car-related domain names

As first reported by MacRumors, it appears that Apple has bought a number of car-related domain names including apple. Car, apple.cars and apple.auto. None of the registered domains are currently active.

Mysterious new electric car company ( Faraday Future) could be a ‘front’ for Apple

A  Mysterious new car manufacturer, Faraday Future, could, in fact, be a front for Apple’s rumored electric car. How else can a relatively new manufacturer, invest a whopping $1 billion in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Faraday Future is also claiming that they are “keeping their partners confidential”. The CEO of the company has not yet been revealed a  move that shrouds this company in mystery.
