The first black script writer to ever win an Oscar abandoned his Script 20 times because he thought it was not going to work

Jordan peel is the first black writer to win an award for original screen play. He is the writer of the hit movie Get out, some really creepy movie about ghosts. According to Jordan Peel’s emotional acceptance speech, he wrote it for fun he did not think anyone would want to support it.

He took his chances, found a production company and insisted on being the director. Today the movie has won him almost 30 awards both as a writer and Director, see movie trailer below

but these Oscar winning movies  are not box office hits- Star wars the last Jedi, Beauty and the beast, wonder woman were the top three box office movies in 2017, but they were not even nominated.

Dunkirk is number 14 in box office, while shape of water is 48; apparently, the Oscar selections is done by movie professionals that feel they know more than the viewers 

Lupita Nyongo proves black is beautiful.

In an effort to say “Thank you” to moviegoers around the country, Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel surprised a packed audience Sunday night by leaving the show venue to crash a nearby screening of “A Wrinkle in Time.”

Kimmel walked next door to the TCL Chinese Theatre just opposite the venue of the Oscars.  He brought with him  A-listers like Lupita Nyong’o, Mark Hamill, Gal Gadot and Emily Blunt to hand out candy and hot dogs to the surprised movie viewers at the theatre

His former stylist Suzie Hardy accused him of sexually harassing and assaulting her for over 7 years, Ryan Seacrest vehemently denied her accusation adding that Hardy repeatedly offered to step back her claims if he paid her “millions of dollars,” which he refused to do.  E News recruited an independent third party investigator who did not find sufficient evidence to back her claims. He was cleared of all wrong doing.

With Hollywood rising up strongly against all forms of sexual misconduct #metoo #timesup; there was no telling what would happen to seacrest red carpet.

Would he be avoided?

Would some celebrity he is interviewing bring it up the scandal

Well, he interviewed a lot of older celebrities and upstarts; but most A list celebs avoided him on the red carpet. All in all he survived except for that awkward moment when Taraji P mentioned that heavens support good people and touched his chin.

Gary Oldman  who won an Oscar as best lead actor in a movie has already won a Golden Globe, Bafta, Screen actors Guild awards and critics choice awards for the same role.

The movie is the darkest hour. He played the role of Winston Churchill in World War 2. imagine retiring now the applause is so loud

Frances McDormand won best lead actress in a movie, but we would also award her for the most rousing speech of the night;

She was awarded for her performance as a grieving mother in three billboards outside Ebbing Missouri. But her speech also deserves an Oscar; she asked every female nominee to stand with her and let their presence be felt.

Then she addressed the crowd telling them that there needs to be female diversity. It’s time to start empowering these women. (Watch)

Tiffany Haddish and Maya Rudolph showed up together to present an award, they were simply hilarious. They were literally holding their heels claiming their ankles hurt. They joked about Oscar so white; it was just fun watching them- everyone agrees they should simply host the next Oscars
