Wizkid won the award in 2016 for his hit track “Ojuelegba” which earned him international acclaim

Davido followed in 2017 for his monster hit song “Fall” one of his most viewed songs till date – 93 million views on YouTube

And Now Tiwa Savage has netted a hat-trick by securing another trophy with her song “get it now” featuring Omarion . She defeated the following nominees;

• Davido : Nigeria( FIA) 
• Destruction boys : South Africa 
• Fally Ipupa: DRC
• Nyashinski: Kenya
• Shekhinah: South Africa

Before these Trio, the only other Nigerian to have won the coveted award was D’banj in 2012 for his hit track “Oliver Twist”
