According to multiple eye witness reports a Mack trailer  loaded with premium motor-spirits (petrol) lost control as it  was  moving inward Berger at 5:30 and hit a culvert  falling to the side. The witness said when he saw fuel flooding the floor,  he took off with his phones and power bank leaving behind his car.

But a new twist to the story has emerged from another eye witness report who claimed that a yellow bus entered the wrong lane to drop off  a passenger,  the Danfoe went ahead to obstruct the trailer’s movement causing the driver to loose control of the fuel laden trailer.

The authorities have not mentioned anything about an inquiry into the incident. the owners of the trailer are yet to be identified

According to the rescue team, 9 bodies have been recovered from the carnage – 8 adults and 1 child. while 4 people are critically injured. But eyewitness refutes the claim. they said a lot more victims trapped in their cars are unreported

The state government released a statement “we extend our deepest commiseration to the families of persons who lost their lives as well as properties to the incident. Our thoughts and prayers are with them in this time of pain and grief” Presently the road has been closed while operation continues

This tragic accident chose an unfortunate timing (5:30 traffic hour). Its a major route for residents living in Magodo phase 2 , Berger and Iva- Valley. Loved ones making a return journey could have been engulfed in the carnage.
