Hope Uzodimma versus Seyi Makinde- The Story in Oyo State could have ended differently if …

A resounding applause to the Cabal, sorry President Buhari and the APC machinery for a 2 year rolling plan well executed

Last year some of us (including me) cheered on when they ran a smear campaign against the former Chief Justice Walter Onnoghen even before the elections

He was removed from office for false declaration of assets and replaced with Justice Tanko Mohammad student of Islamic law with years of experience in the Sharia court

Now it seems like Buhari has the Chief Justice of Nigeria in the bag- APC is suddenly declaring victory at almost every supreme court election case

Ihedioha’s court battle:

According to the results declared by INEC for IMO State, Emeka Ihedioha polled 273,404 votes followed by Uche Nwosu who garnered 190,364 votes and then Ifeanyi Araraume who secured 114,676 votes. Hope Uzodinma came fourth with 96,458 votes.

But the supreme court cooked beans

Votes from over 300 polling units in Imo state were previously omitted due to election fraud and violence, The supreme court suddenly declared it was illegal for INEC to cancel such votes- they then suggested that the votes be recounted.

Wait for it ….

They only added scores to Hope Uzodimma in the revised results- everyone else maintained their status quo, hence Hope Uzodimma wins.

Seyi Makinde could have been targeted, he just went through the same process- An APC guber aspirant fighting for the seat at oyo all the way to the supreme court

but unfortunately for the Cabal, sorry Adelabu, Makinde was no ordinary governor- his mandate has been settled with the people. He paid salaries on time, Led by example and displayed religious tolerance.

They tested the waters to remove Makinde at the Appeal court- the presiding judge gave an ambiguous ruling that was neither here nor there

The Court of Appeal set aside the judgment of the Tribunal which upheld Makinde’s election- but did not order Seyi Makinde to vacate office. This caused quite a stir across the country-

The Court of Appeal held that there was a miscarriage of justice by the Tribunal and the right to fair hearing of the Appellants was breached.

Court of Appeal on Makinde’s election.

Seyi Makinde’s victory was later upheld at the supreme court, a very important political state in the South West After Lagos-

But my guess is he won that battle because Nigeria stood with him- His light was shining so brightly the forces of evil were blinded.

Ihedioha on the other hand concentrated on demolition of structures and edifices put in place by former Governor Rochas Okorocha . At least thats the much we heard about him. He made it too easy to take him out .
