Saraki kicked off the production, God father style:
He organized aggrieved members of the APC to create a faction (rAPC). The rAPC members included State Governors and some Senators, APC did not want a defection, PDP wanted the rAPC to join them. Courted on both sides, the senate president used rAPC as a bargaining chip.

The senate president has a history of trying to lobby power by all means. In 2014, 7 governors broke out of PDP to create nPDP (Saraki was one of them) this faction of the ruling party later got absolved into the APC.

Fast forward 4years later; rAPC would tow the same line as nPDP. The player and the game has not changed. Others just need to play catchup

APC on its knees:
President Buhari and APC chairman Adams Oshiomole separately meet with Sen Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to beg him to Remain in APC (flash back 2015, remember how Kano votes boosted Buhari’s count)
Buhari and Osibanjo also met with Saraki 5 days ago behind closed doors- Trying to convince them to remain with APC

With All the cards in rAPC hands, PDP bowed to pressure. Though details of the negotiation was not made public it was agreed that the PDP’s name would be changed.

The rising wave of defection could not be stopped;
If the defection happens, APC risked being made a minority in the national assembly. It could put a stop to Buhari’s second term bid. The planned date of defection was today- 24^th July 2018

This means war; Diplomacy had failed, the APC cabal was going to stop the defection by force- they had a plan: and everything else happened very fast

Monday evening: a mysterious accident

A sudden police invitation
The senate president was told to report to its Guzape station by 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning to answer questions surrounding the Offa robbery.

Under siege:
As early as 6 am on Tuesday morning, reports suggests that SARS have been deployed to NASS headquarters. The homes of Saraki and Ekweremadu were also under police blockade. Then Saraki’s convoy attempted to make its way out of his estate, but they were blocked by the police.

Pro Buhari senators move in to impeach Saraki
Three coaster buses were spotted moving the senators from Transcorp Hilton to NASS headquarters. As early as 7:00am, pro Buhari senators were at the National Assembly while those loyal to the Senate president also trooped in.  Signatures that would have been used to impeach the senate president had been collected overnight

The joke is on you;

Saraki was not at his home when the SARS team arrived. He was not in his convoy either, the senate president’s team kept security forces busy with an empty convoy of Saraki’s aides.Reports suggest that Saraki drove to the National assembly quarters in an old vehicle.

He went ahead to preside over a mass defection of about 14 senators and 37 house of reps members.- including Melaye, Shehu Sani and Kwankwaso.

At the end of this movie, Saraki finished as the Hero, twitter users have referred to him as Jack Baeur from prison brake, while some cut him into the Iron throne (game of thrones)
