This year’s VMAs took place at New York’s Radio City Music Hall. These are some of the best highlights:
Cardi B opens the video music awards by revealing her baby Kulture (side eye)
The 25-year-old rapper hit the stage cradling a tiny pink bundle of blankets that fans thought might be her newborn daughter, Kulture. Turns out, it was just a shiny moon-man trophy.
Cardi’s husband, Offset, wasn’t in on the joke either, he legit thought Cardi B was going to reveal their baby at the award show, just check out the look on his face
Beyonce who? Jennifer Lopez performance was super “lit”
She performed a quick medley of her hit songs including “Ain’t Your Mama,” “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” and “Get Right.” The stage transitions and effects was breathtaking and beautiful
She floated down to the stage suspended by cables as she sang her throwback hit “Waiting for Tonight.” then transitioned to another hit — “On the Floor” — as the stage exploded with neon lights, fireworks and fog bursts.
As she sang her Christmas song “All I Have,” the stage transformed into a winter wonderland with snowflakes descending as the singer put on a fur coat.
Her boyfriend, Alex Rodriguez, looked stunned as he captured her performance with his phone, he is officially now a social media Meme
Tiffany Haddish throws some serious shade at fifth Harmony
Picture the typical Hollywood story of a musician breaking away from their girl or boy band to go solo – then become a raving success; well, that’s Camilla Cabello’s story. She left her girl band fifth harmony and became a world star- well Tiffany Haddish made sure she pointed that out

After her performance, she brings out the most important women in her life Her mum, grandmother and cousin(how sweet)
All hail Queen Nicki Minaj
Rap’s resident royal lady performed a Queen medley at the Oculus in New York City. For a moment, Nicki looked over her kingdom and soaked up the adoration framed by two glittery unicorns. Rightfully, “Majesty” began the show, with Minaj proclaiming that she had “the money and the power now.”
Madonna failed to deliver on a simple brief- Give a tribute to Aretha Franklin
She ended up making it about herself. She told her rags to riches story and gave Aretha Franklin a little role in her story. Twitter was like babe????
Me: It's weird that #Madonna is doing a tribute to Aretha Franklin, but what's the worst that could happen?
