5 Tragedies that waited till the last week of 2017

President Buhari’s son  in power bike accident;

According to news reports, Yusuf Buhari  had an accident racing in his power bike with friends sustaining head injuries and a broken limb. He was promptly treated at a hospital in Abuja and is in stable condition.

Rumors had it that he would be flown to Germany in an air ambulance, but the presidential spokes team has disputed such claims. According to news reports, Yusuf remains under intensive care at Cedarcrest Hospital in Abuja

Some Nigerians and opposition groups has sent their condolence message, but others are very unforgiving. They claim he deserves to die like the Islamic Shiites, the Fulani herdsmen and Boko Haram victims, etc. others are asking where he got the fuel to ride a power bike when they can’t power their generators. PDP man Femi Fani Kayode likened it to the case of Pharaoh of Egypt and the hand of God.

The president and his wife love their kids like any other parent in Nigeria rich or poor, no parent wants to bury their child. Our thoughts and prayers are with the first family at this difficult time.

Traders loose Millions in Bwari market fire, Abuja

Blessing Ezeh, a fashion designer in her late 30s told Sahara reporters she lost all her savings to the violence including all her customers’ clothes. With tears in her eyes, Ms. Ezeh said, “All my life was in that shop. My money, my machines, my customer’s clothes, everything got burnt.

That’s the plight of traders in Bwari market Abuja, after their stores were burnt down following ethnic disputes between Hausa and Gbagi traders.

According to a resident of the area, the violence started on Christmas Eve after an Hausa man reportedly killed a Gbagi man. In a bid for revenge, the Gbagis residing in the area burnt down the Bwari market on Monday.
On Tuesday, a day after the Christmas Day violence, soldiers, policemen and even naval officers were seen patrolling the community.

Members of the community were also reluctant to go out of their houses, some because of the fear of another attack while others said there were no vehicles to convene them.

Wizkid and Tiwa savage robbed

Earlier on Tuesday, a private jet purportedly conveying “Wizkid” and Tiwa Savage from Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State, was allegedly attacked and robbed while taxiing on Lagos airport’s runway.

That means the plane had touched down in Lagos runway and was  slowly taxiing to the arrival hangar when the cargo compartment was allegedly burgled.

Reports said upon arrival at Quits Aviation Center, a private jet hangar, the pilot discovered that two bags belonging to Ms. Savage and Wizkid had allegedly been stolen.

This is not the first time luggage has allegedly been stolen from MMA. FAAN said such allegations as baseless and practically impossible. #acoverup?

While Wizkid has remained mute about the incident, Tiwa took to social media to vent her frustration.

Vegan Chef and Motivational speaker kills wife and two kids

An Arizona man accused of shooting and killing his estranged wife and two children on Christmas Day was a vegan chef and motivational speaker who posted a video on Facebook with his 11-year-old son smiling and singing hours before he fired a gun at them, reports said.

Anthony Milan Ross, 45, was arrested just after 10 p.m. Monday in the murder of his estranged wife Iris Ross, 38, and his two children — Nigel Ross, 11, and 10-month-old daughter Anora Ross — at their Phoenix apartment. He was held without bail Tuesday.

There is nothing about Ross that looks or sounds like a psychopath killer, he seems like a doting dad and really nice man.

Fuel scarcity at Christmas

An oil producing nation experiencing fuel scarcity in a national holiday is nothing short of a tragedy. NNPC and independent marketers are pointing fingers at each other. The independent marketers are accusing the NNPC of trying to monopolize petroleum importation, not allowing independent marketers to import fuel.

Well NNPC states that crude oil prices has increased, and they are paying a subsidy of 26Naira per liter. The president was attacked for showing sympathy and the senate is pretending to be busy solving the problem.
