Kim K’s white house mission accomplished! – Why and how she lobbied presidential pardon for Alice Marie Johnson

And with this tweet and a heavy heart full of pity for Alice Marie Johnson, Kim Kardashian got to work.

Who is Alice Marie Johnson?
Alice Marie Johnson is a 62 year old mother,  grandmother, and great grandmother celebrating her 21st year in a Federal prison. She was sentenced to life in incarceration for being involved in a drug conspiracy- She was a first time offender and non- violent.

According to her story; her life turned upside down in three years between 1989-1991- first a messy divorce, addiction to gambling, getting fired from her management position at FedEx.  She also lost her home, filed bankruptcy and lost her last child to a scooter accident.

She was at a really bad place and could not find money to take care of her family. She went into a panic and made one of the worst decisions of her life – drug peddling to make ends meet,  a first time non-violent offender.

Despite receiving a life sentence, while in prison Alice worked hard to rehabilitate herself  and act as a mentor to her fellow inmates,” she has never had any disciplinary infractions .

Life sentence in a Federal prison can only be upturned by the president through clemency. Alice Marie qualified for clemency but had been denied several times under the Obama administration.

How Kim got her out of jail;
Kardashian West enlisted her personal attorney Shawn Chapman Holley to provide legal support for Johnson’s clemency petition.
Mic  reported in May that Kardashian West had spoken multiple times to Trump’s son-in-law and White House senior adviser Jared Kushner in recent months about Johnson’s case.
Trump and Kardashian West met with Trump in the Oval Office last Wednesday after she first reached out to Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump to help set up the meeting.

Kushner has been leading a push on prison reform as part of his portfolio as a senior adviser to the President.
Kardashian- West dressed in black, arrived at the White house West Wing last week Wednesday afternoon to meet with the President Donald Trump and add her voice to Marie Johnson’s case. She later went over for Dinner with Ivanka and Jared Kushner.

Yesterday, President Donald Trump commuted the sentence of Alice Marie Johnson and granted her clemency

Now that Johnson will walk free, Kardashian West still plans to get more actively involved in prison reform issues moving forward. one person at a time.
